Born and educated in Yorkshire.

Drawings published in 'Punch' and 'London Illustrated'.

Art Education:- Batley School of Art and Leeds University.

Military Service - Far East Land Forces.

Poetry and Writing.
Alfred's writing and poetry has been published and recorded in an eclectic form. Sometimes written in conjunction with his paintings. In some cases the one has been the catalyst for the other (see "The Terezin Poem" and "Never to See the Morning").

Currently working on poem illustrations.
In process is a DVD voice-over, film visuals and sound for "The Monologue - 'The Wolf and the Seagull Quark'".

Some of his work has been broadcast by interview and in some cases, as with "The Terezin Poem" and "Never to See the Morning", as a poetry reading.

Alfred has broadcast with the B.B.C. World Service from Eastern Europe, Radio Budapest, Radio 1 (Ireland), Manx Radio and B.B.C. Hereford & Worcester.
